About JYC

Established in 2029 B.S. Jawalakhel Youth Club is a social organization with focus on Sports and Social services. Situated at Jawalakhel, the club owns a six-room club building. The club enjoys the rights over the Jawalakhel Football Ground and uses of it are for training and other income generating activities.

Since its inception, JYC’s football team has been a regular Martyr’s Memorial “A” Division Club Football League outfit. Football has been the major area of focus for the club along with other sports like cricket, volleyball, badminton, karate and kickboxing. It has been conducting Volleyball training centre for the last ten years with the view of producing quality players. The club has been successful in producing national players, coaches and referees of national and international stature in football.JYC has been doing well since its establishment in Martyr’s Memorial “A” Division League. It was able to finish Winner of 17th Tilottama Gold Cup 2068; Second Runner of the Martyr’s Memorial “A” division Club Football League 2068 season ; runner-up in the Budasubba Gold Cup 2062 B.S., was the semi-finalist of the Tribhuvan Gold Cup Tournament 2062 and is continuously looking to improve its performance in the League. JYC is also social organization as it has been conducting various activities like Blood Donation, Health Camp, and Environment Awareness Program. Various training for women like sewing, plumbing, making dolls ad handicrafts are being provided as a part of the social service campaigns.

JYC has elected a new working committee that is determined to take the club to greater heights. JYC is planning of inception a Junior Football Academy in near future. The JYC to date has a relatively long and has a proud history. Founded in 2029 B.S., the club with years of hard work has progressed solidly to now be a strong part of the 1st Division in the National “A” Division Football League. Located in Lalitpur, servicing Jawalakhel City and surrounding areas the JYC has 3 junior teams and is part of a strong sporting precinct encompassing:

  • JYC Football Team, 3 junior teams (Under 14, 16 & 19 age group) and a senior team
  • JYC Badminton Circle, 6 senior teams and 6 junior teams.
  • JYC Volleyball Training Centre, 3 junior teams and a senior team.
  • JYC Karate, targeting school students.

With over 500 members the JYC prides itself on its achievements both on and off field, in particular its ability to provide a friendly family oriented environment which invites and facilitates all willing participants and supporters from the local community and abroad. Over the past 35 years the club has worked closely with the Samsung, National Zoo. Mahindra and Mahindra to upgrade and improve its current facilities, along with the promotion of sporting involvement to the wider community in a joint initiative. With the development of our own 2 storey building in 2008, we now have the premier playing surface in the National “A” Division Football League (NDFL). Recently our football ground has been chosen by numerous event organizers, ahead of others, as their preference to hold their community and infotainment activities. Over 2,00,000 people attended various activities during the year 2010.
